Thousands of years ago, when gods still ruled the world, there were nine gods to rule the world of Gaia and keep peace. However the gods were disunited due to greed and a fight over power. Goddess Isis tried to resolve the conflict in a peaceful way but she was betrayed by the evil gods and banished. She created her own world, FantasyLand, where people can live in peace. To protect them, she set up eight guardians who should keep intruders from entering FantasyLand. Ever since then, the goddess Isis holds a tennis tournament once a year and grants its winner one wish. |

 After several weeks of speculation after Flagship Studio's so-called
layoffs, the Mythos dev team has finally annouced they will be going on
hiatus. Here is there message:
Travelers of Uld,
We,
the ancient elders of Uld are issuing this warning to all citizens and
travelers. Hurry! The great darkness that once plagued Uld is
returning. Everyone is ordered to close down their shops and prepare.
We predict the when night is at its peak the darkness will arrive. The
ancient elders of Uld will be leaving immediately in order to preserve
the lore of this wonderful world. Citizens please prepare thyself and
know that the elders will be back from their travels some day.

the team: We regretfully announce that on Friday, July 18, 2008 at
11:59 PST the world of Uld known as Mythos will be going on hiatus. On
behalf of all of the Devs and Community team we want to say thank you
to everyone for their support and assistance with Mythos Alpha and Beta
testing and we will see you soon.

message board has also been taken down; however, this was announced
several days prior to this latest message. Some were hopefull that the
game servers would remain online. It is unknown whether development
will continue at a later date or if this is a permanent hiatus.

 Turn based battle – my favourite style of battle, has been on the decline for a few years now. In reality it hasn't really been the popular choice since the days of the SNES, but some games still employed the system and in most cases successfully. Take the juggernaught Final Fantasy Series, who until recently have always used an imaginative turn-based battle system, and thanks to it has retained a loyal fan base for over 20 years. This was up until FFXII (Final Fantasy 12); in FFXII they decided to change the fighting system from turn based to a new kind of action system, similar to the one used in many MMO's today. For some, this was a refreshing new look at a perhaps dated system, for others like myself this prevented them from playing the game for much more than a few days.
